It was the promise of baby animals that lured us in. Sure enough, the barn was completely full of new life. Day old chicks, week old goats, piglets suckling their tired mommy.

The best part was seeing the sense of wonder in my 4 year old’s eyes as the farm worker gently put the baby bunny rabbit in her arms. Really, Green Meadows Petting Farm is perfect for Easter fun!

Green Meadows Petting Farm opens their doors Easter weekend every year for a spring preview of their petting farm and a chance for kids to snatch up a few coveted candy-filled eggs.

It is a simple, not overcrowded, fun time and we fell in love. It was the perfect place to enjoy Easter festivities. Read on to find out why you will want to bring your kids this year too!

1. Petting Farm With Baby Animals!

I think this was actually our favorite part. I don’t know if the timing was perfect or if there are always baby animals because it is a farm, but new baby animals were everywhere! My daughter was able to hold or pet a baby bunny, chicks, newly born goats, and more!

Seriously, these animals were ADORABLE and a lot of them were less than a week old! Isn’t that baby goat (kid) so cute? And look at those piglets. Eeeep!

2. Really cool play structures

There were a number of playground play structures that all the kids had a blast climbing all over. I think my favorite was this big red combine harvester, which was turned into a jungle gym and slide for kids.

This fire engine play set was pretty fun too!

3. The Easter Egg Hunt itself

The folks at Green Meadows Petting Farm are experts at the egg hunt. Kids are divided into 3 groups by age: 0-3, 4-6, 7-12. On Easter Egg Hunt days, Green Meadows runs huts at 11AM, 1PM, and 3PM, with each kid getting to collect up to 10 eggs. The eggs are filled with either toys or candy AND there are a few special prize eggs as well.

Whiskers the Easter Bunny will also be on hand for photo ops. So, bring your cameras and your bunny ears!

4. Live entertainment

For the special Easter Egg Hunt weekend, Green Meadows offers some fun entertainment options. We saw a juggler and I know that live music was on the schedule as well. Also, pig races. Yep, grab your popcorn and sit in the bleachers to catch these little piggies running to market.. or all the way home, or wherever they are going.

5. Fun Add-Ons

There are rubber ducky races, a corn crib, bouncy ride on toys for younger kids, cow milking, hayrides, and animal feeding included in the cost of admission.

Know Before You Go:

For 2024, dates for the Easter Egg Hunt are March 16-17, 23-24, 28-31.
Admission is $16/person, age 2 and up. This includes everything available on the farm (you don’t have to pay extra for animal feed) except food you might want to purchase.
There will be food vendors on site for lunch and snacks.

Wednesday-Friday the farm is open from 10am to last admission at 1pm. Saturday and Sunday the farm is open from 10am to last admission at 3pm. The farm closes at 430pm.

Is Green Meadows Farm stroller friendly?

It’s a farm, so it’s not paved. Still, the do allow both strollers and wagons.

Yes! They have an indoor restroom facility in the event barn.
