Let’s face it, if you have kids you are going to want to get out of the house at some point. However, if your kids are young– under the age of 5 years old– that can be a loaded proposition. Why is that? Well, many times an attraction or an event that is billed as ‘family friendly’ does not necessarily include families with really young kids. So, how do you cut through all the options for fun family outings to determine which ones are appropriate for your toddler or preschooler? If there are 10 fall festivals, which one should you go to? If you can only go to one zoo… which one should it be? Is going out worth the effort to pack the car with all the ‘kid gear?’ If the place you are going costs money, is the admittance fee worth it? Or, will you wish you just stayed home and had a Bubble Guppies marathon? I hope this family travel guide becomes a reliable resource for you as you look to plan family outings and even more extended travel in the local region.

Fun Things to Do With Kids in the Baltimore-DC Area
I hope this guide is easy to use. Basically, I have organized the activities by location and by type. If you see hyperlinked text or a photo, you can click on either to take you to that list. If you see the name of an attraction or activity that isn’t hyperlinked, I have visited and intend to write a blog review eventually.. but since I want to do a thorough job of it, I haven’t been able to squeeze it in yet. In the meantime you can either a) scroll through my Instagram feed or Facebook photo feed (which is basically my Instagram feed) because I try to provide mini-reviews/pictorial reviews fairly soon after we visit a certain place. Also, you can always ask. I love talking about fun things to do with kids! So, shoot me an email or write on my Facebook wall. I will definitely answer you as soon as I can.
